Did you put System Sweeper on to an USB and boot from the USB?

Most computers, but not all, if you start tapping F12 as soon as the computer starts, than you will get a menu where you can change to boot order. This change is only a one-time thing. To boot again from ust, you'll have to hit the f12 key again and choose usb once again.

After making sure Removable was first, it worked, but once the actual Sweeper started it said Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper Error, and then some jibberish and the error code.

Format the USB as NTFS.

then repeat the procedure to put the System Sweeper onto USB.

Format it. We must erase all signs of the unit having been used by System Sweeper before.

I've never know the format of a usb stick to take a long time.

What size usb stick do you have there?

Next time when you decide to format one:
1. disable your anti-virus software,
2. exit from all programs.

Normally such steps aren't needed but the format should finish easily and quickly.

Figured it was normal as this is not a slow computer at all.

Good. Only put the 64 bit version on there since you have a 64 bt system. Put the wrong system on the usb stick and it won't work.

Read, read, and reread the procedure I gave.

If you follow that procedure to the letter, then you will have no problems.


Tomorrow, after some sleep, I'll review the procedure and try to determine where you are deviating.

The procedure is 100% the procedure which I've used with no problems.

Perhaps you have a defective usb stick. I've never known a format to take as long as yours did.

This doesn't sound like an infection....sounds like a failed hard drive to me. I'd get SeaTools burned to a bootable disc or use Hiren's and test the drive.

Yea so my computer is not recognizing my Hard Drive or CD/DVD Drive.

Did you check in BIOS setup to see if HD and OD are seen there? If not, check cables to make sure they are secure and good. Try swapping in another HD to see if registers.
