Boot Disk failure

Yea I don't have a spare HD, I've taken it apart multiple times to ensure its all secure.

I've got it booting with a Recovery Disk, but it says there are no OS files, and even when I try to do a clean install it says it can't find OS files.

When I get to the recovery options I get an X: Drive in the CMD instead of C is that relevant?

listed drives

Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
-------- ------------- ------- ------- --- ---
Disk 0 No Media 0 B 0 B
Disk 1 No Media 0 B 0 B
Disk 2 Online 3827 MB 0 B

Guessing the first 2 are my mouse and keyboard, 3rd is the actual USB.

Are you using the System Repair CD?

X is the disk itself.

Does it scan for Windows installation and not find any?

Try clicking through to System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair anyway.

If nothing is found, try from Command Line running bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /fixmbr to see if it then finds an installation to repair.

See if you can see your files using this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console You can also copy them out if needed.

What disk are you using to try reinstall, and where did you get it? Has it worked before? What are the exact results including error message text?

Yea everytime I run start up repair, I'm greeted with a black screen telling me there is no OS or whatever.

Link 2 doesn't work because the hard drive isn't readable, my HD is 640 GB nothing even close to that shows up.

What are the results for this:

Did you check in BIOS setup to see if HD and OD are seen there? If not, check cables to make sure they are secure and good.

How are the HD and OD cabled? Where are they plugged in? What ports are shown available in BIOS?

Please fill in your System Specs so we can help you better. Use Speccy to help if necessary.

The options in BIOS are HD, Removable and NVDIA Boot Agent.

In terms of specs what do you want to know.

AX1301
AMD Athlon 11 X2
3 GB DDR2
640 GB HDD
OD DVD Super Multi
VGA 9200 Intergrated VDIIA GeForce
W& Home Premium 64 Bit

They are in the computer, not sure what you mean.

You need to populate the System Specs in the bottom left of your posts, otherwise hardware experts may pass over the thread.

The BIOS listings you gave me appear to be boot order. I am referring to the BIOS setup page where the installed drives are registered under their SATA or IDE controllers. Find those listings and see if and how they are recognized.

Does the HD diagnostics/repair CD extended scan see the HD and what does it report?

The only thing close to that I could fine was SATA Operations mode which is under AHCI mode.
