Boot Failure after Windows Defender Offline

Got the Alureon.a trojan/rootkit. Downloaded the Windows Defender Offline and ran it successfully, but now I can not get past the "Verifying DMI pool data....".

I've read countless posts about doing F8 or F10 to go into Advanced Boot Options, but neither of those respond. So I can not change the /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN.

Only things I can go into are the Boot Menu (F12) and BIOS Setup (Del). I've tried every possible combo of Alt+F10, Ctrl+F8, etc. to no avail. Hitting (ESC) to go into Safe Mode option does not work either. Nor vigorously tapping of F8 or F10.

Any suggestions on how to get to the Advanced Boot Menu?

Thank you in advance.

There is no Installation DVD, comps don't come with them anymore it would seem. I do have the recovery DVD's that I made, but when running the repair, it gives an application error during disc 3.

NAPP_KM:NAPP7.exe. Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d)
occurred in the application at location 0x10054162

It happens every time I've tried recovery.

NAPP_KM:NAPP7.exe is some acre recovery partition stuff. Are you trying to go back to "factory settings"? WIN7 partition is deleted already?

So even recovery from recover partition fails(?) It already did a lot I assume(?) How long was it busy? Any idea if it already formatted or recreated partitions?

Trying to avoid a complete "factory settings" install where I lose all of my work.

Comp I am on right now is an older XP that is a roommates. It has little more functionality than to get online.

Doing the recovery partition has failed 6 times at the same point. Once disc 3 of recovery is in, it only takes about 5 min before the Error occurs. No idea if it reformatted or recreated partitions, but it still hangs up on the Verifying DMI if I don't go into boot menu.

Boot from system repair disk and do a "startup repair"
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

That's what I've been doing and getting the NAPP_KM:NAPP7.exe. Application Error every time.
Did you read the tutorial??? NAPP_KM:NAPP7.exe isn't part of it at all

Yep, I read the tutorial and as in my OP, I don't have the option to go to Advanced Boot Options menu. I can do the recovery disc startup repair, but it isn't the same as thing. If i could get to the Advanced Boot Options menu, I'd be able to resolve the issue. But since there is no way to get to it that I'm aware of, I have to do the recovery disc repair version.

I was able to get into the System Repair and Recovery menu, but nothing has worked to get it up and running again. Even doing a complete reinstall doesn't work.
