Hi there.

I can't start my system at all so there are no dump files attached. I've tried safe mode and my windows recovery disk - no luck. This is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 on a Dell XPS 1645.

BSOD message - Initial system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000001 0x00100950

I had a virus day ago - cleaned with Avast, Microsoft Anti-virus, Malwarebytes. Added Advanced System Cleanup from Iobit and cleanup up registry. Event viewer showed no errors other than system recovered from unexpected shutdown.

Is there anything I can try to further diagnose the problem? I can't even boot up past Welcome screen. External monitor and wireless keyboard work.

Thanks so much. I have a another laptop on which I will download the Win 7 iso and create a bootable disk should I have to install from scratch.

I can't even start my machine, so, unfortunately, I can not grab any dumps to post. I had started filling out the systems specs page but still need to complete it.

System just came back to life!!! I just got a message that my external drive was causing a problem. I've uploaded the results of SF_Diagnostic_Tool.exe as SF_12_10_2012.zip.

The most recent error message in the System log is
The HomeGroup Provider service depends on the Function Discovery Provider Host service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

This is strange as I had set both services to Automatic when I last saw this message. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I am also downloading the Win7 iso to make a bootable disk should I have to start from scratch.

Still Crashing - Not Due to External Drive

Still having intermittent BSOD. Ran sfc.exe - no problems and tdskiller from Kaspersky - again no problems. I've attached a zip of the files resulting from the SF Diagnostic Tool. I would greatly appreciate anyone's help on this. I'm willing to reinstall everything from scratch but would really like to identify the cause of my problems first.

Thanks in advance.

No Dump Files

Hi -

Thanks for your help. I did see a message on my BSOD that dump files could not be created. I've attached images of my minidump, kernel dump and virtual memory paging settings screens.

Please take a look at them. I will update the driver for my graphics card.

Thanks so much!

Done. Thanks so much! I'll leave it alone for a while now and see what happens - it usually crashes when it goes to sleep. Thanks again for your help.

New and Much Worse Probem!

Everything was looking good until I started streaming Hulu. After about 10 minutes the system froze. I could not get to the task manager to kill the process and had to do a cold boot.

Now - I can't get past the starting windows screen - I get this BSOD

I can't start in safe mode either. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I think my last post got screwed up - I've attached the screen I'm seeing after I get to the Starting Windows screen.

Does your motherboard have an onboard VGA?
Can you connect there?

Code:
STOP 0xC000021A: STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED
STOP 0xC000021A: WINLOGON_FATAL_ERROR (Changed in Win8 DP SDK v8.0)

Usual causes: User-mode device driver, system service,
or third-party application, Mismatched system files

Tell me,
(1) If this is a new computer and is under warranty
(2) If anything is overclocked
(3) Since when did this problem start
(4) What were you doing when it started

Yes - there is VGA. The computer is no longer under warranty - it was a replacement from Dell after fighting with them for 2 years. I got it in 2010 with 1 year left on the 3-year warranty.

Nothing is overclocked to the best of my knowledge. The problem started last Wednesday when my machine got a virus. I thought I had cleaned it up with Avast and Microsoft anti-virus, malwarebytes, and advanced system care.

I just disconnected my external Iomega drive and my external monitor (but kept my HD TV connected via HDMI) and the system came on again. I then reconnected my external Syncmaster monitor - no prob. Perhaps I need to also update the Iomega driver?

I'll upload the latest dump info. I'm going to stream some Hulu again to see if the system freezes again. Thanks again!

Not yet - but I haven't started streaming yet. I want to run the full scan first - should take a while. However, the system is beeping intermittently, never a good sign.

Can you explain what you mean by beeping?
And I'll get off in a while, due to different time zones
