Hey guys, I've been looking at this for a while at work and I'm hoping you guys can help me out here. I'm a bit stumped.
I've got a computer displaying a BSOD after windows logo and before login screen. I tried safe mode and initially thought it was DeepFreeze failing because when watching the drivers load for safe mode, the BSOD happened right after loading the two DeepFreeze drivers. eg. "LOADED: DF.sys"
I took an image of the hard drive from a linux boot disc with DD at this point before I started making changes because there is software that isn't around any longer and we wouldn't be able to get back.
So, I got in touch with DeepFreeze Support and was able to manually thaw the computer (by replacing the two deepfreeze drivers with the thawed versions I got from support) and the problem continues after that.
At least, the system is thawed now so I can be certain that anything we change in it is effective and not going to be reverted.
The exact error text on screen is:
"STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The initial session process system process terminated unexpectedly with a sta
tus of 0x00000000 (0xc0000001 0x00020bd8).
The system has been shut down."
This doesn't look like the "normal" blue screen I'm used to. There is nothing saying that it is saving a dump or anything like this. I've tried startup repair many times and I have also booted up in PartedMagic and confirmed that the partition is marked as active. While I had it loaded in partedmagic I did see something weird on the label. It's got some high ACSI characters in it...This makes me nervous. I also and tried booting into recovery for W7 after that through 5 times in a row two or three times and every time Recovery comes back and says no root cause found and then proceeds to fail to boot up after I restart it.
