Hi

First time poster.. my PC is getting on a bit now but its been very reliable. Recently I've had a few BSOD and they seem to becoming more regular. I havn't changed any hardware recently or done any driver updates.

If someone could take a look and point me in possibly the right direction that would be great.

Thanks

Hello and welcome winstratcrash mate in a lot of the dumps there are some refs to the CPU can you run Speccy and let us know the temps please? https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download

Also I see you are running AVG and just for the record a lot of us in tis forum do not like it as it does cause a lot of problems but the choice is yours of course

Hi

Thanks for the response.. I've been running Prime95 for the past hour on small fft and Coretemp and OHM both report my max core temps as 63-71-69-68. This is after I've dropped my overclock earlier from 4.5 to 4.3, bios vcore 1.35.
Assuming this is prime95 stable I'll go back to 4.5 and report temps again..

If AVG is not liked, what other free antivirus do people prefer??

Thanks

AVG Free
Seems you have it under control at the moment and as for an AV well that is a can of worms if you post asking which is best.

All I can say is I have run Kaspersky for the last five years it is good (always at the top of the ratings or close) and very inexpensive. For example my 3 PC 2 year licence works out at $0.075 per day and well that is just about free. I also run Malwarebytes both paid for on some machines and free on others https://www.malwarebytes.org/ & SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware! as also scan tools as they do root out the odd ones that Kaspersky misses (NO AV is infallible because it is only as good as your own judgment and computer use)

But if you want free then take a look at the real time link in this Free Windows Desktop Software Security List | Gizmo's Freeware

Now if you do get rid of AVG use the correct removal tool Download tools and utilities | AVG and I always check the HKEYS LOCAL_ MACHINE & CURRENT_USER > Software to make sure what I am getting rid of - for example Symantec (Norton) as some have nasty habits of leaving bits behind.
