Hello!

Since yesterday during downloading Blacklight: Retribution i got the first bluescreen. And now it continues to come during the game play.

Dunno is it caused the induvidual program or just bad hardware

I had got new RAM installed week ago which is set to 1600Mhz and it passed 1hour 30min memtest. Also have checked the HDD's for any faults, but seemed to work fine.

So far tested:
-Updated my GFX drivers to AMD beta drivers 12.7. After this i got bluescreen under 5min of gameplay.
-Downgraded the GFX drivers to last 'working' one that ive used (12.4)
This made me able to play for 2.5hours, but gave bluescreen when i exited the game.

At this moment i have set the RAM to its 'originial' speed 1333mhz

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
- the original installed OS on the system? Yes, but has been reinstalled because my first Velociraptor HDD failed after half year
- an OEM or full retail version? OEM
- What is the age of system (hardware)?
~3 years, tho RAM and GFX is newer
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 1.5 Years

Are you overclocking at all? Did this only start happening after you replaced the RAM? If so, if you reset everything to defaults, do you continue to get BSODs?

The CPU is overclocked to 3.7Ghz and has been overclocked since i bought the PC.
The previous 6gb ram kit was overclocked to 1600mhz and so is this new one.

New ram kit is Corsair Venceange 12Gb 1600mhz and has worked in memtests and prime95 alot better then my old one when overclocked. Also it started to happen when i installed the game, the RAM kit worked just fine with all other games that ive had played the past week. Tho u never know when it starts to fail

Just noticed that now after reinstalling older version of my GFX drivers (and ram was set to i7 default mem speed.) The game crashes everytime when i exit it.

Most of the problems with games have been caused by my graphic card so far. AMD Radeon 6990 and the crossfirex seems to do some weird things in few games, but has never caused actual bsod

edit: Also just noticed that after latest crashes the windows 'flag thingie' next to clock/date is saying that Activate Avast! internet security (important) even tho its already running.

  • Recommend removing your ASUS utilities through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program. They can provide software interfaces with the hardware for overclocking, and even when the overclock is not enabled, that interface can cause instability. They are also not needed for the system to function properly and may reduce system resources.

  • MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner/Kombustor is known to cause instability with systems. Please remove the software. Software overclocking does not provide reliable overclocking. Overclocking should be accomplished through the BIOS or through the graphics card manufacturer's software.

  • Spybot Search and Destroy and Spywareblaster are not the best malware/spyware utilities. Take a look at http://www.sevenforums.com/system-s...-system-security-combination.html#post1732627 for better options.

Analysis:
Contrary to your beliefs, your overclock is not stable.

BugCheck 0x124

You have a 0x124 hardware bugcheck. If the system is still under warranty, I would recommend sending it in to have diagnostic tests done and any bad hardware replaced.

   Warning
Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. :warn:WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

For your hardware stop 0x124 crash, read through http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html and use the following hardware checks to supplement that link.

  • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

  • If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:
    • SSD firmware
    • BIOS Version
    • Chipset Drivers
    • Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
    • If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

  • Run all but the advanced tests with SeaTools for HDDs.
  • Monitor temperatures during the following tests.
Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures.

  • Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

For Part 3: If You Have Errors: If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
    1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
    2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
    3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
    4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.
Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

Remember to read closely through http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html for the crash.

Changed the old RAM kit back in to test with it. Also removing the above programs except MSI Afterburner. I dont use it to overclock my GPU, its there to have custom fan control.

AMD Radeon 6990 runs fairly hot without custom fancontrol (90celsius tops on full load) and with the custom fan control its 70-80celsius depending on the room temperature.

Is this SeaTools a must? Cos already used WD Lifeguard Diagnostic tool to check my HDD's. Ran both smart and extended tests and they passed.

Will post once i know how the system works with the old ram sticks and above poster steps

Got problem with the Video Memory Stress Test program. It doesnt like to test with the full 4gb of video memory. it only allows the half of it like its divided in the card aswell.

It also says that its not compatible with my card. There isnt also option to choose the gpu2 from the card so only have tested the gpu1 which worked fine

Edit: After swapping my old ram back in and deleting spybot, spywareblaster and asus programs. Also deleted the SBRE thingie from devices and updated my bios to latest. One of these worked

Will test the new ram kit aswell as the new bios had some ram updates tomorrow

Could play the game without crashes for several games and it didnt crash when i exit from it. Tho the comp in general runs slighly abit slower.

Good news regarding the crashes stopping. I wouldn't worry too much about the video memory stress testing.

For the GPU fan, I use SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer to control my AMD GPU fan.

SeaTools is not a must if you already tested with WD Lifeguard Diagnostics.

Let us know once you narrow down the true culprit. :)

Right. I put the new 3x4Gb RAM kit back in, set it to its promised 1600mhz and been testing past few hours. So far no BSOD's

Think the bios update helped alot as i could set the Command Rate (CR) to its 2T as its stated on the RAM. With old bios it kept saying that overclock failed if i set it there, only could boot with 1T.

Ty for all the help in here :) hopefully this stays together.

One more thing tho. Can superantispyware + Malwarebytes PRO + Avast Internet Security (licensed version aswell) cause some connection problems?
ive had some small hicups with connection after installing these. With browser and online game + teamspeak 3 combo.

Tho atm connection is aswell working just fine so might have been some random operator stuff.

Good news on the RAM! BIOS updates often provide more support for hardware and increase stability, so that was a good step.

I imagine something else is going on with your network. Both SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes are designed to work with other antivirus software. I would be surprised if they were causing issues unless one of the installations was corrupted. If the problems return, try re-installing all three. You will need the avast! uninstall utility to remove avast!

If you still have problems after re-installing the three programs, remove all three and install one at a time starting with avast! to see which is causing problems.

I celebrated too early, had yet another crash this morning.

Bug Check String: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
Bug Check Code: 0x0000001a
Caused By Driver: ntoskrnl.exe

The BSOD came when i had two Eve Online clients running in windowed mode. It also deleted in progress one of the accounts UI, Overview and Chat settings. Tho i was playing with chat settings when it occured.

After that i started the memtest86+ bootable version and ran it for 6-7hours (4+ passes) and no errors occured.

Before all this i had the PCIe speeds set from auto-> x16 + x1 as i got my sound card in third PCIe slot. The card doesnt fit into its orginial x1 slot on top of the rail as motherboard heatsinks comes to its way. Tho this was the secondary recommended place to install it. It has been so for the past 2 years.

Now i started to disable some onboard functions to see if they help.
Disabled:
- Onboard HD Audio function, guess it has got enabled again after bios update.
- IEEE 1334 firewire

Also update to the connection issue from yesterday. I noticed its related to teamspeak 3, After while it starts to cause massive packet loss and wont stop untill i close teamspeak 3 and start it again. Dont know the reason for it, but hoped the PCIe change would effect to it. If the soundcard wasnt functioning right.

I don't have time to analyze your reports at the moment, but it looks like you did not include at least two of the slots under the SPD tab in CPU-Z. Please include all slots under the SPD tab.

Crashes indicate avast! as the culprit. See my previous post for steps to resolve it. If that does not work, remove avast! completely with the avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal and replace it with either of these:
After installing your security software, update it, and then run full scans today with each program. Report back the results of the scans.

I reinstalled Avast! 2days ago and on yesterdays dump file there was mention about speedfan that i uninstalled fully. Going to continue using MSI Afterburner for my GPU fan management.

I have 2 years license on avast so dont really want to get rid of it :p

So antivirus and spyware setup is atm: Windows Defender, Avast! licensed, Malwarebytes lincensed and superantispyware free version. Ill do the full scans during the night.

But aye, after uninstalling Speedfan and disabling those 2 things from bios i havent got any bsod's so far. Tho im still going to see for few more days to be sure.

Yeh BSOD again, now during the comp was on idle. Same codes as the previous one.

Going to uninstall Avast! and reinstall it>

Also i ran the full scans on Avast! and malwarebytes. Avast found steamerrorreporter.exe from my steam folder which seems to be just false report. Tho i quaranteed it and steam downloaded it again.

What are you using to get your information about what caused your crashes?

Please follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html so we can analyze the reports for possible culprits.

Despite the fact that you have a paid version of avast!, it may be necessary to remove it at least for troubleshooting. Sometimes, avast! and other antivirus programs will be blamed in crashes and mask the true problem. When that happens, we recommend installing Microsoft Security Essentials because it is the least likely to be blamed for crashes when something else is involved. That allows us to track down the true culprit in those situations.

im using 'BlueScreenView' to read the files.

I will uninstall the Avast! if it bsod's again. Last time when i reinstalled it, i didnt use the removal tool from their site. Now i did and ran ccleaner few times to be sure.

theres one thing in 'Eventlogs' or what is the english word for 'Tapahtumienvalvonta' where i can see windows logs: application, security, settings and system.

This shows up in system part quite often
following boot-start or system-start drivers failed to load: Lbd, SBRE

I removed this SBRE driver from device control manually, tho dunno was this the right way.
I think its leftover from my ad-aware installation.

Right BSOD happened, heres the files. 2 BSOD's for 13.7.2012.

Both times the comp was in windows, the first time it was idle, no screensavers or anything on at that moment while i was watching movie.
The Second time happened when i was doing the BSOD report thingie that u guys request.

Also uninstalled Avast and installed MSE now (after the bsod.) So no BSOD's with MSE yet.
