Solved BSOD randomly, mostly while playing saints row the third

That could be caused by the GPU, PSU, or motherboard and there's no definitive way to test.

i'm gonna try to get my hands on a friend's pc so i can try my gpu in it, in the mean time is there anything i should try out?
Also, the only thing that seems to make me be able to play longer is to increase fan speeds, this would suggest an overheating problem, but i've checked msi afterburner temp logs and temps are no where near even 60 degrees celcius
Also, i've been messing with the 2d clock settings because it was suggested on a lot of other forums i found by googling my symptoms and that didn't work either. Most of these problems usually end up unsolved as well. Maybe i didn't configure something correctly when i build my pc? Because after i built it i just installed all the drivers and started playing games, was there something in the bios i was meant to finetune or something?

yeah i ran it, but i didn't run it for very long, only 15 minutes, since the forum in the link you gave me said to only test until the temperature stabilizes or i see artifacts. It stabilized on 65 degrees Celsius.
I think the problem is getting worse, if it was a gpu problem would the problem get worse like this? Cause i know psu problems do.

I did some experimenting and i found that by downclocking my gpu by a lot (from 975 to 720) i can play for almost an hour of modern warfare 2 rather then around 15 minutes. Is this information of any use?

After underclocking my gpu to 700, i haven't had any crashes since, does this mean it was insufficent power or something?

Sorry if you've supplied this, what PSU do you have? The symptoms point to a possibly bad or weak power supply.
If the GPU stabilized at 65C without artifacts or going to a real low FPS, it is likely OK.

It's only happened once so far but i thought it'd be better to have it checked out, but when i run sf diagnostic tool it says access to mini dump denied. Is there a fix for this?
