BSOD : System Service Exception

Hi,

As the thread title says, this isn't the first time I've encountered this problem. However I was sick of having various blue screens and computer crashes I decided to do a fresh Windows installation on a brand new hard drive. Basically, I installed everything i need from the previous hard disk. I didn't do a backup just took out those files i need and changed to a new hard drive. Everything was working fine until i got the blue screen. I updated everything from windows update except service pack 1 as it keeps giving me errors. I'm unsure if it's due to hardware or driver issue. Please take a look and give me some advice. Thanks!

Is Windows 7 . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64 - the original installed OS on the system? Win7 - an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail - OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)? ~2 years? - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Fresh

Well you took the problem from the old system to this one when you installed Norton on it. It is the cause of them

I do notice Symantec which is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

You should also update to SP-1 asap.

Wow thanks for the quick reply! Okay I'll uninstall Norton for a few days and see how thing goes. And SP-1 was successful after the 3rd attempt.
