Solved BSoD SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, 0x1000007e

I have been getting BSoD for quite a few months now (started saving copies and the oldest is April of this year) .. and because of the often occurrence I have a shortcut to my install of "BlueScreenView" on my desktop.

The latest BSoD read as:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: amdppm.sys

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
select Safe Mode.

Typing this while waiting for the SF Diagnostic Tool to finish as it is taking a long time (with the "Grab All" option).

Also I will also be burning a newer copy of Memtest to CD to check my memory but the last time I did there were no problems found.

Para 1: The exception code that was not handled
0xC0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates a memory access violation occurred

I am not really experienced at diagnosing problems but I am not new to computers neither. I just know how to research better than solve the problems myself.
Because the SF Diagnostic Tool scan is slowing down my computer and I don't want to lose all that I have posted thus far I am going to submit and hope that I can edit to add the required zip file of the scan results.

Okay got it. Seems if you don't put this on your desktop it doesn't actually save it to your desktop but on what ever drive you put it on in the #:\Users\*name*\Desktop\SF_*DAY-MONTH-YEAR*

Last I checked there was no newer driver for the Logitech C510 HD Webcam but I just checked now and they FINALLY released a newer one. I am glad because it has been giving me trouble since I bought it this year.

Also when it comes to drivers I seem to sometimes have a hard time knowing where to get them. I try to go to the main site but like in the case of the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller when I go to the main site the extra information I need to know in order to choose the right one I do not know: Realtek I don't know which one to choose. All I know is mine is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller - Adapter Type: Ethernet 802.3

For the Realtek High Definition Audio I am grabbing the 64bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver (exe) from Realtek

Now with the Smart Card Reader I don't think I can find updated drivers for that. Hopefully updating these others will stop my blue screens. I will reboot after this and if I don't get another blue screen for 2 weeks then I will know the problem is solved and will post that here or of course if I continue to have problems I will be back here.

Okay ran into issues with trying to install the Webcam driver ..

I get this error (see image)

I have 31 Gb free (11 % free) of a 300 Gb HDD

Back after many reboots. I had multiposting so just editing my post to add more info:

Couldn't install that as it said I either didn't have enough room or needed to run as administrator or that something else was already in the middle of installing or the file is damaged or I have to reboot.

I have plenty of HDD space as 158 Mb install should have no problem on 31 Gb and I ran it as administrator and nothing else was installing as I tried after just rebooting a few times.

So instead I decided to just uninstall the older version and see if that was why it wouldn't install. It said I had to reboot so I did. Then when Windows started back up it automatically installed it again I guess because it was there. I tried one last time to install but same error. So this time I gave up and just went through the webcam program itself and told it to update (the Logitech Updater screenshot attached). It would only update to Version 1.8.7259 however instead of the Version 2.51.828.0 that the file would have updated it to if it had worked. I have no idea why it won't and after all this I don't know what version it was that was causing the issues in the first place..

It looks like you have a RTL8168, download the driver from here.

Download Process Monitor and start it before running the installer (use CTRL+E to stop/start capturing) save the log file and upload it here, it might get quite big so you maybe have to start capturing just before the error appears.

So this time I gave up and just went through the webcam program itself and told it to update (the Logitech Updater screenshot attached). It would only update to Version 1.8.7259 however instead of the Version 2.51.828.0 that the file would have updated it to if it had worked. I have no idea why it won't and after all this I don't know what version it was that was causing the issues in the first place..

Well, if you get any more BSODs after updating to version 1.8.7259 just upload the dumps here.

Just got another last night while talking via voice through the mic in the webcam (not using the webcam but just the mic to talk with a bunch of friends on Mumble). This was before I saw your last post.

Looks like the BSOD was caused by the webcam driver again and unfortunately it's still the same version both in the new and the old dump file. I would recommend that try to install version 2.51.828.0 again.

I had trouble with that version but according to this list: Webcam software and driver support for Windows - Logitech FAQ it seems that 2.31 is compatible instead of 2.51.. ?? Am I reading that correctly?
