I am sorry for the poor thread title but I am really not sure what the cause of my BSOD is. At first i thought it was the streaming program "XSplit", but recently the BSOD has appeared without it being used. It might have something to to with my mouse/headest (do not know if these can cause BSODs), because I have gotten BSOD on two other PCs with the exact same mouse and headset.

My PC is relatively new and therefore this has upset me quite a bit :/

Here is my file from SF diagnostic tool: View attachment 236572

Thanks,
-Martin

I now no longer experience BSODs while playing games, but I do however get them whenever I try to stream with the program XSplit. It does not happen instantly, but after 5-10 minutes of streaming it will occur. "atikmpag.sys" seems to be the problem yet again. I have installed the newest driver that I could find, and I have also cleaned out everything linked to AMD/ATI in the registry and Windows folders before reinstalling the driver.

I will post the new dump file when I get a BSOD.

EDIT: I named it "MMjacksN dump 2" because I have already posted a dump file named "MMjacksN"

It is stop 0x117.

You first update the display driver.
Code:
kd> lmvm atikmpag
start end module name
fffff880`04d52000 fffff880`04da7000 atikmpag T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: atikmpag.sys
    Image path: atikmpag.sys
[COLOR=Red]    Image name: atikmpag.sys

If still this crash continues, we may need to do something more.

It seems that my problems have persisted ! Earlier, I was unable to find the correct driver for my PC (Clevo P170E) and it turns out that I had to get the display driver from the PC manufacturer's website, and not AMD who made the card.

I think it has something to do with my PC being a notebook with switchable graphics (read this somewhere but can't remember exactly where).

Thanks a lot for your time and help! :D

SIGHHHHHHHHHH.... :(

Just now I recieved two BSODs while streaming with XSplit. The first one happened after I had been doing it for a while, but the second one occured only a few minutes after I resumed streaming.

Here is the dump file for the latest BSOD:

I am seeing the same version of the display driver.

Mini Kernel Dump does not contain unloaded driver list
Try to update it from AMD Graphics Drivers & Software.

If the crashes continue after updating the driver, we know what to do to troubleshoot stop 0x117. But updating the display driver is the first and foremost.

The problem is that AMD/or my PC will not let me get any new drivers from their website. When I fill in the information (Notebook, Radeon HD Series, Radeon 7xxxM Series, Windows 7 - 64 Bit) I am told that I should download their Driver Verification tool. This tool refuses to be installed on my PC (because of incompatible hardware), which leaves me without any possibility of getting my driver from AMD.

I have switchable graphics; Intel 4000 HD and the Radeon HD 7970M.

Also, is there a difference between display driver and graphics driver?

Thank you

This sounds like you have some corruption present - I'd start with some basic system checks....

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

At the Command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and hit the Enter key.

You will be told that the drive is locked,
and the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot) -

then run the SFC.

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
SFC /SCANNOW
and hit the Enter key

Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.
Copy the CBS.log file created to your desktop (you can't manipulate it directly) and then compress the copy and attach it to your response.

If it fails in Normal Mode - try again in Safe Mode

I did not receive any error messages, nor did it create a CBS.log file on my desktop

EDIT: I have now downloaded the new AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta driver: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1211betadriver.aspx

I'll check if the BSODs continue to show or not.

Found it. I only looked at the desktop :o

However, I have not experienced any BSODs yet with the newly installed Catalyst beta driver, except from an error message saying my screen driver has restarted bla bla. This was while pushing the card to the limits though, as when I used normal settings I would not get any errors. It also seems like the performance of the card has increased. :)

If I don't experience any further issues soon I will mark the problem/thread as solved.

Thank you very much for your time and help :)
