Ok. I just did it. And I ran the programs for removing adware as previously suggested and it took out a vtoolbar or something like that and Malwarebytes took out 16 other PUP's before. Should I still run the Free Virus Scan, Layback Bear?

Also, because I'm afraid to ruin my laptop, I'm thinking of bringing my laptop to a shop tomorrow morning if it is open. I got recommended to it by someone else in my area and they have a five star rating online. While I am short on cash, they reassure me that the prices were very reasonable. I was going to ask if he or she could remove the dust built up. Is this a good idea?

I was looking at my temps and the highest it went to while doing all the scans was 66 C. The lowest while I'm not doing much (but this was right after the scan. maybe 10 minutes after), it was 47 C. Are these too hot? My laptop apparently has this Ice Cool touch on it where it's supposed to keep the palm rest cool. It felt warm when doing the scans and when playing the games. I know it'll get hotter with those things but I just wanted to point it out.

I'm going to try the memtest86 at night since it'll take a long time. I did the other memory test built into the computer already. I won't be up to watch it. Is this fine? I'm doing the cpu and video test either tomorrow or an hour later from now.

(I know I asked a lot of questions. I really appreciate the help. Thank you so much)

I cleaned it, did two scans. I'm going to do one more just in case and I fixed my wifi issue as another pointed out to me on a different post about my wifi issues. So far, I haven't froze and temps are still 58-62C when playing DOMO. I played for about 3 hours and it did not freeze but I'm not getting my hopes up yet but this is an improvement. I would usually freeze not long after I start playing. But it felt a little warm. I think I should try Speccy or another software to see the temperature of the video card or something like that? I read that somewhere.

I'm planning on getting the dust removed Tues-Thurs. I wasn't able to go today.

I want to buy an antivirus. What should I get? I'll stay away from Norton but I don't know many others. I know AVG isn't good. I know McAfee is kinda heavy like Norton and the only other ones I know are Butdefender, Avast, and Kaspersky.

My game froze again, this time, not even one hour in but I think it was getting hot. Coretemp says 61 degrees but I felt like it was pretty hot. I'm getting the dust removed Tuesday or tomorrow if it's opened after my classes. I wanted to rule out the heating issue first but I'll run the last two tests zigzag said I should.

Before my laptop completely froze, I lost my wifi completely. Is this normal with bsod 124?

Edit: I turned my laptop on and the wifi is gone again. It says no connections available with a red X and there are more than 5, including my own password protected wifi.

What should I do?

It will not hurt to run Eset online scan and it might help. No program finds everything.

I really have never been in the spot you are in because I have never used IOBit products.
Most people end up doing a Clean Install that have your problems.
Their is a good chance that IOBits brought all those bad things that were found with it.

Let me try to explain.
Once one has used IOBit products no one knows all the bad things it's done. We don't even know if they are the same on each computer.

Once you fix 4 or 5 problems 4 or 5 more problems pop up. Then you fix them and more pop up.
It's a never ending battle. In the mean time IOBits is probably calling Home to China.
I recommend changing all passwords using a clean computer.

Oh. I'll do that then at my school where computers are regulated. But I'm not sure if iobit brought that all in. When I got the virus last year from my little sister messing with my laptop, it came with binkiland and snap.do which I thought I had removed but they were still there. My computer ran ok with iobit before then. It doesn't make it good though and I will never put it on my laptop or future laptops again. I've learned my lesson. I will scan again with the other software you recommended.

Do you think a clean install will solve it? How do I do that?

I wanted to add that my wifi driver just disappeared, the one I installed as recommended by another on a different thread I created. It just disappeared and now I'm putting it again.

I tried doing Prime95 and my laptop went from 49 C in idle (when I'm not doing anything) to 81 C in a matter of minutes so I stopped it. I think the max for my laptop according to Coretemp is 105, where it would shut down. It's never gone over 62 when playing DOMO but I'm not always watching the temps. Only occasionally so I can't be sure.

I'm doing memtest86 tonight since it'll take a long time.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever fix this issue. :(

I tried Prime95 again and it went up to 87 but passed some of the first tests but I got scared it might ruin my laptop.

Any thoughts on what I've typed before? I'm afraid to do memtest and it overheats.

Waiting on a reply :)

Why did you run Prim95?
You said you were going to get your laptop looked at for a good cleaning and take care of the heating problem.
Good cooling laptops don't like Prime 95 because of the heat it causes.
Let us know when you have had your laptop looked at for cleaning and proper fan operations.
At that time I would have new thermal compound installed.

You have several problems but taking care of over heating problems is the first to take care of.

**Are you getting any more BSOD??**

My laptop is in the shop at the moment and they have cleaned it out and are now looking to test it to see what's wrong with it.

I ran Prime95 because it was what zigzag and another post on here said I should try as it's a way to detect what might be causing the BSOD.

I will let you know the results of the test.

I did not get any other BSODs except for that one time despite it freezing at least 10 times.

I got my laptop back and will test it tomorrow by playing the games. They have removed all the dust and have checked the hardware components and said everything is fine and I have a 90 day warranty so if it still has issues, I can bring it back free of charge.

Is oovoo bad for computers? Or Skype? I was told on here to uninstall it but it was my main way to communicate with close friends who have gone off to other colleges. Should I keep it off and just use Skype?

Oh. I'm guessing Skype is safe then? I always uncheck everything when downloading. I'm thinking the adware I got was either from IOBit as it is unsafe or my younger sibling because I came home one day with a huge issue that I thought I solved late last year.

I'll trying playing the game tomorrow and seeing if I get the same result or if it's completely fixed now.

If you're not experiencing any problems with it and you didn't download its adware, its probably safe. Having a bad reputation sometimes comes only from adding adware. Its up to you.

Well, guess what? It froze again. This time, I wasn't even playing a game my temps were the same as they were before the dust got taken out. Still 40-45 when I'm doing nothing, doesn't go up much unless I'm playing a game and it goes to about 62. But I didn't even get to play this time.

What happened this time was I was doing my homework and typing in a simple equation to have google do it for me (my calculator is nowhere to be found at the moment so I'm using Google) and when I pressed enter, it was taking a while to load. And I thought maybe my wifi router was acting up again or something. But it was fine on my phone and when I looked at the wifi icon, it said it couldn't find any wifi before it froze.

What should I do now? I have warranty with the repair shop so they can take a crack at it again for free but I would hope that this time it would be fixed completely. If any of you have any suggestions for me to try and maybe pass it along to the repair shop?

Did you have a crash or it just froze? Have you tried hooking it up via ethernet (if possible) and seeing if its possibly due to your Wifi or wifi driver?

I have actually. I plugged it in before and played for about an hour and it didn't freeze but I would have to try for a longer period of time tomorrow to be sure.

I will try the first thing you suggested afterwards. And it only froze. I had to hold the power button to turn it back on and when it did, it still said no wifi connections available with a red X. When I think back, all my problems started happening after my wifi started acting up....

Domo is a download game. My younger sibling played a browser game called Attack on Titan. But today, it did not freeze when I was playing. It froze while I was doing basic homework. I didn't play at all today on it. It was only on for a couple of hours.
