BSOD while playing DOMO and even simple browser games (Error 124)

Hi

I've had this computer for a year and a half now. It's been running fine until December. I got a virus because of my younger sibling but I was able to solve that issue. Even bought a new AV and everything was running smoothly. But some weeks later (maybe a month), I had wifi issues. My computer would have an X over the wifi icon on the start bar and said that there were no connections? When in fact there were plenty of connections as my phone and my mom's netbook connected fine.

I just restarted the comp and it would solve the issue occasionally but then restarting my computer stopped working completely. I took it to Office Depot (had no other choice) and they said my computer had many issues with it but to solve that one, I just need to reinstall the driver. If I allowed them to fix everything, it would have cost $299, something I can't pull out at the moment.

So I took their advice and did my best. Honestly, I think I downloaded the correct driver but now I'm having doubts. It worked afterwards and stopped working a few times until it worked completely. I cleaned my comp out, researched errors, etc. Then last month, I had another issue. While playing Dream of Mirrors Online, my whole computer froze and a high buzzing sound was heard. But this only happened if the volume was on.

My laptop isn't overheating, I think. I checked the temps with Coretemp as recommended by another and it was 40 C while idle and 63 C was the highest it got while playing DOMO. I have played heavier games in the past without any issues.

So, back to the wifi problem. When it froze, it came back for a few seconds. I was able to exit out of my game. The wifi stopped working like it did before and then it completely froze again and then the BSOD came up, saying there was uncorrectable hardware error.

I dunno what's the problem but I'm hoping it's something I can fix on my own as I don't have the money to make someone else do it. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Here's my question on another forum so that you can get the Error Viewer and other information I have on there, including the photo of the blue screen. I had a blue screen a long time ago too and may still have the photo.

My Anti Virus got rid of it before I could open it up. Is this normal?

Not as far as I know it's not normal, but I'm not really sure what is normal using Nortons.

Make sure you don't use any cleanup tools because they might remove the logs.

We will have to wait for one of the forums BSOD Team members to analyze your logs. They are always busy so just hang in there.
If you don't get a response from one of the BSOD members just send me another VM and I will look for help.

Also, since you have this going in the Microsoft Community Forum, did you follow the post made by Zigzag?

BCC124s are hard to pin down. While the error points to hardware, it is most often because of corrupt or old drivers killing the hardware. He gave you steps to follow. Where are you in those steps? No sense duplicating efforts.

Its possible this PC needs a few virus malware scans as well. We need a dmp file to help much more.

Thanks for coming to help Carwiz and Gator.

It hurts my heart to see IOBit installed.

CluelessCompKid IOBit products destroys many computer systems. Hopefully you won't have to do a clean install, but many do after using programs from IOBits.

Wow, thank you for the help. I will begin to take out IObit. I had no idea they were bad...and I'll get started on the the processes. I didn't start any yet? But I did do a memory check twice with nothing reporting back but it did freeze once after it was done.

When you say corrupt drivers, my mind keeps going back to my wifi driver. It's always disappearing before my computer freezes or after....and I only got 1 BSOD from all the freezes I encountered.

Right now, I'm scanning it. I found a toolbar that IOBIT uninstalled never found. It was called Snap.Do. I don't know if it's completely gone now. I'm scanning with Microsoft essentials and malware bytes. After, I was going to try the tests mentioned by zigzag in the other forum. I did memory test but I guess I'll try again.

I'm starting to wonder if it is a heating issue. My laptop does seems to feel warmer than it use to but I've never opened it up and dusted it out because I was afraid to mess it up. And I'm always cleaning my room of dust. It gets pretty dusty if I don't clean it every 2-3 weeks or so and I've had this laptop for nearly 2 years now. I also live in Miami and it's kinda hot at the moment so I limit myself to 2-3 hours on the comp every week day and weekends, I leave a few hours in between gaming or if I'm doing online homework or drawing, etc.

I'm not sure how to open it up or clean it out. I don't think I'd do it correctly. How safe/easy is it?

You can see it from the outside it will look similar to this below. Sometimes you can see if its clogged up/dirty. They can get very bad and heat up a laptop quickly.

Check to make sure the heat sink where the air comes out of the laptop isn't clogged.

I'm not sure how to open it up or clean it out. I don't think I'd do it correctly. How safe/easy is it?

You can see it from the outside it will look similar to this below. Sometimes you can see if its clogged up/dirty. They can get very bad and heat up a laptop quickly.

I have one like that at the side under where the heat comes out of the laptop. It does look dusty. It doesn't looked clogged but I can see dust when I use my flashlight to look at it.
