BSOD while playing DOTA 2 in 1920x1080.

Hi!

I receive randomly BSOD while dota2 is running.

It happens when I use 1920x1080 in dota 2, while if I use 1366x768 it's working.

However, there is also a problem with 1366x768 if I have google chrome running at the same time.

Also, when I get the first BSOD of the day, I have a hard time turning on the computer and getting in to windows at once. I have to turn the computer off and wait for a amount of time before I can get to windows.

Do you have any solution for this?

Hi torris.

Can you try Catalyst 13.4 WHQL, to test if there is any difference?

Use AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility to uninstall the currently installed 13.11 WHQL. Then install 13.4 WHQL and see how it is going there.

Also, it is important to know some information.

• Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not. eXtreme Power Supply Calculator
• Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Upload the list of all the third party drivers Using NirSoft DriverView :

• Download and execute Driverview
• View > Hide Microsoft Drivers
• Edit > Select all
• File > Save Selected Items
• In the Save dialog, Set the path to desktop, Put "Driverview" in the name field, and save.
• Zip the .txt file and upload it.

Let us know the results.

First I tried to uninstall Catalyst 13.11 WHQL by following your link. It seemed like it uninstalled everything and I received a blue screen during the end of uninstallation. I was not able to boot without blue screen at that point so had to restore computer from a week back. So I'm still on 13.11 WHQL.

I did all the other tests, here are the results:

eXtreme Power Supply Calculator: Was quite hard to put accurate information, but in the end it said 263 watt and I have 450 watt.

Try it in safe mode in that case?

The Motherboard is tending to overheat.

A dismantle is needed, perhaps. Clen everything there within the computer. Clean all the fan grills and air vents. Make it sure that all teh fans are working properly. Also plan to reapply the thermal paste to the CPU.

Let us know the results by providing another speecy screenshot. It is a MUST.​

Some drivers should not be present there. Like .....

• AMD OverDrive Service Driver, AODDriver2.sys
• ATK0110 ACPI Utility, ASACPI.sys

Both are ASUS utilities, which should not be installed at the first place. Those are harmful for your computer. Most frequent BSOD causers. Uninstall them at once. I'd recommend you to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219576-clean-up-factory-bloatware.html, with a special reference to Point #13

13. Consider a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is often better than getting a new computer considering how pre-installed bloatware can corrupt Windows 7 even if it's completely cleaned up.
