Hi all, recently I tried to update my graphics driver by installing the Catalyst 16.2.1 drivers. But it BSOD while installing the video drivers part. Restarting the laptop also causes that. I tried installing the manufacturer's driver package but the same thing occurred. atikmpag.sys seems to be the cause of it. I've attached the log dump using the dm log collector.

Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Lenovo. Be sure to install as less as possible software using custom/advanced options, you can use this tutorial to do so :ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...install-without-catalyst-install-manager.html

Did as instructed but it still BSOD when manually installing the drivers. Attached the new log.

In device manager it says that the driver cannot start, giving code 10.

Are there older versions available?
Is there a BIOS update available?

Yup there's another older version available.
As for the BIOS update it says that it's not required.

Please check manually for BIOS updates, it is preferrable to check for drivers & BIOS updates manually so you're sure it is done properly without any bug interfering :)

If it is then we can't do much, because with a laptop it is difficult to replace a hardware part. In that case it would be the best to either use warranty if any is still available or get a new laptop. A new laptop cost a lot of money, but is much less consuming than replacement.
