Cable Management

Hi guys.

After the recent acquisition of new hardware for a new PC, I am now questionning myself about cable management.

Yes, I'm getting ahead of myself a bit here but I want to see your tricks and tips ahead of time!

Your case from Lian-Li already has the holes cut in the motherboard mount plate for cable management. The bottom mounted PSU cables (sometimes not all of them, if your motherboard sub-power isn't long enough you might have to run that along the mobo) go in the hole next to the PSU, and come out the other holes as needed, as well as any other cables that might get in the way of air flow.

Zip ties are your friend. They are cheap and effective, and small enough to strap wires to random holes, also easily removable.

You have a window, too... So you might want to think about cable sleeving. It makes exposed cables look pretty.

Get lots of cable ties and take your time when running the cables, plan the best routes.

The common first thought is to hurry up and throw it together and worry about cable management later, which usually never happens.

Have you looked to see if they are any video reviews for the case in question? They usually show/talk about the cable management. You might get an ideal from that.

#1). The case needs to provide a mechanism for hiding the cables.
#2). Having a modular power supply helps a bunch. Instead of a huge tangle of wires you have to hide, with a modular power supply you only use the cables you need.
#3). Take time, plan it out. It took me about 2 hours of tinkering to get the cables where I wanted them when I built my new box. That was longer than it took to assemble the parts and install the OS and load my software.

One thing I will say about that Antec P182 is it does have great cable management. Great job.

@pparks1 : My upcoming Power Supply is is Silverstone DA700 which is (fully) modular. my case is a Lian-Li Lancool PC-K62. With that information, I'm pretty you can "personnalize" your last post

@sygnus21 : I've checked Youtube for cable management with my case but... I can't find anything... Also great job on your cable mangement *thumbs up*
