He's offline now. I have no idea what OS, actually.

And yes, I said I was going to run Aero for several weeks to get accustomed to it. I really like the taskbar thumbnails - very useful. The unbelievable part - I even enabled all the animation crap. I mean, features.

Don't know if there is a connection, but I get a lot of hourglass in IE now. Nothing crippling or even overly annoying - just a new thing.

Here is what I see as you can tell there are no files in this folder after i right clicked on "pci mmodem" in device mgr.

Now what plz?

thx

Chuckle. That indicates that there are no sub-folders. Some of the detail I provided earlier in the thread may be a bit dated. I am an old man.

What happens if you just click OK?

You can't be as old and dumb as me. Why I click OK I get this:

Any ideas Antman? I am using win 7 ultimate 32 bit if that helps

Right click the setup.exe and choose Properties.

Select the Compatibility tab

Select one of the XP versions (cheating here - don't know which is best).

Report your result.

If it fails, we can try Vista compatibility. The INF file contains a specific reference to XP though.

Hi, I did as the above said with the setup.exe and tried vista, xp and win 2000 and received the following for all "HSP modem installation failed". Any Ideas?

thx

Let me do some web pricing. I have about 10 internals and two externals. I will look into drivers for the ones I already own, but I am a very lazy man.

My challenge has been locating appropriate drivers for the many modems I have.

Right now, I am dealing with Creative re: drivers for a Blaster USB modem.

Just an update.

Still working on this. I will send you a modem. I will not send a modem without a driver - you already have one of those.

Thank you Anthony. You truly are a kind man to help me out. I greatly appreciate it.

PM me with shipping address.

I keep finding only this:

Software / System Requirements

  • OS Required Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP
  • System Requirements Details Windows 2000/XP - RAM 64 MB

Antman, what is the make and model of the modem and I will help you look for drivers of this modem. I really appreciate your help.

BTW, in order for this modem to work on vista and win 7, doesn't it at least have to be compatible with vista? Please let me know.

thx

I am no longer looking for drivers. I am looking for modems. I only have one modem with Vista (and soon 7) drivers. Sorry, need that one.

How important is CallerID? This is the limiting factor on the modems in my price range.
