I previously posted about the memory leak I experience with IE8. Right now after being open for a few hours and doing general browsing it is using 1700MB, more than 65% of my total in use memory.
I used to be able to tolerate it but now it is effecting performance requiring me to shut down the browser as it's high memory use eventually makes my system unuseable.
I really don't think it is normal as some have said. I know I can use a different browser but I would really like to know if there is anyway to get IE not to be such a memory hog? Will moving to IE9 make any difference? I don't see the problem on my newer laptrop that uses IE9, but I wonder if my older desktop is just bound to have this problem no matter what version of IE I use.
