Cannot do update for Windows please see attachment

Hi . I don't know if I am posting in the right place, but it is two months now that
everytime I go to update (see attachment) it fails on me.

I have a friend who comes into my computer by logmein
and he said that is because it is corrupt. and I would have to put my Sony Vaio
back to the beginning as it came from factory.

I could download all other updates

I am Windows 7, IE 11, professional, 64 bit...... service pack 1

I don't want to have to do that

is there anything else I could do... and I will tell him

Just right click on it and hide it.

If you have it, then why does it show up in windows update ?

Open up Internet Explorer and see what version you`re running.

Wait, your getting offered internet explorer 11 when you already have it? That is not normal. A lot of people think internet explorer 11 is too buggy right now to use. (I have no problem with it) That is why ADDRAM said that.

Can you try to run this troubleshooter?


Try this first:

Do option 2

I am not sure. Follow the tutorials and you should be fine.

Ask if you have questions on those steps.

@ Though IE11 is a bit buggy, since it's an update it'll nag you till installed. Anyway I've got it installed on my Win 7 machine no problems.

That said, make sure you have all the other updates first, including those recommended, sans the drivers. After that, try installing 11 again.

And though you say you already have IE11 installed, what version is it? Cause the one trying to install is the latest or official version.

no I did not do it yet because I am not sure of certain things. I sent what you said to a friend who comes into my computer ..... and this person will do it in the next few days.... at first he thought we should take all the discs
my laptop came with and put it back to factory reset . and I don't want to do that...but what you sent .. he will
do when he comes into my laptop. may have to wait a few days.. but I will be back in touch with you.....

also it is late where I am and too tired now to try to make sense of things. so it is better to wait. when one is tired
things are always more trying..
