Hi all, i am hoping someone can help me with this issue.
I have been running windows7 for a while now but decided to format my computer.
i have tried both reinstalling windows as a fresh install and upgrading from xp sp3 but i get a error message:
Windows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer.
I have red some threads about this but none seem to work.
could someone please help me resolve this.
Thanks
Vince

- more than 2GB memory can spoil the install: so atm i am only running 2GB ram.
- enabling the virtual drive: not listed on my PC.
- populate the disk info via device manager: info is populated but as soon as i click OKAY, the info dissapears. i have tried populating then upgrading to windows7 but still get the same error message.
- Disconnected all other Harddrives, including CD/DVD drives
- Tried using different CD/DVD drives including a new one.
- Set Bios back to Default settings.
could someone please help me resolve this.
Thanks
Vince
