cant download anything

ok heres my problem when i click on a download link on firefox/IE
nothing happens. no download dialogue nothing!.

but if i switch usernames and do the same thing i can get the download link to download. what is the problem and how can i fix this?

Hello hbreakz. That is very odd. Is the account you cannot download on an administrator or a standard account?

Probably something in your users profile or a firefox setting. You can determine which by trying IE in your user. If yes firefox, if no profile

I suspect:

-Incorrect IE settings;reset IE http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1222-internet-explorer-reset.html

-third party security software (malfunctioning any tool or you have two 3p firewals or two antiviruses).If you have too much security software you have to uninstall surplus.Ultimate if nothing help uninstall all 3p security software

-infection:diagnose your system any external tool:Malwarebytes.org

Download

You may have been restricted by the administrator, or any other use who has administrator settings. Check it out. My IE8 works fine. I am the admin. & I have restricted download in other accounts.

Ps. For IE8 a bar appears, from where you acknowledge that you wish to download the file etc.
