Can't get rid of Yahoo on new computer

On my new computer, when I boot Firefox, Yahoo appears everywhere. I've deleted it from the Search menu but it still appears as the default search engine. How can I get rid of Yahoo for good?

Win 7? If this is not what you've already tried, in Firefox, go to Tools>Options>Search. Set you default search engine, and uncheck those you don't want to see displayed in the box below.

Did this multiple times. Yahoo keeps coming back as a default home screen.

If that doesn't work, a new download of Firefox might help.
