Can't Open Zip Files After Windows 7 Upgrade

I just updated my pc from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I also use IZARC to zip and unzip files and everything worked fine until the windows 7 installation.

The only software downloaded after the Windows 7 update was AVG 2013 and Dual Monitor Tools, which allows me to custom fit wallpapers on my dual monitors


I'm double clicking the zip file and it opens on the bottom and appears in a small view when I hover over it but it does not open to a folder after clicking it.

Try using 7-Zip It's free and easy to use and it works really well ... it also allows right mouse click to quickly unzip rar, zip etc. files

I would prefer to stay with Izarc as its worked well for years and never had a problem. If I can't figure this out then I guess I'll have to

Well you've not had any problems until now ... to be honest I've been in this game for a long time and I've never heard of "Izarc" so I can't really comment, but I've used 7zip for a ages and never had any issues (you watch it will break next week now that I've said that

I took your advise and installed 7zip and uninstalled IZArc. Everything is working great
