fixed!!!!
I can't believe everything I went through...uninstalling and reinstalling printer (which caused its own problems) and someone on another forum had mentioned going into properties....which I had done many times to make sure grayscale wasn't checked....anyhow, I went into microsoft picture manager and clicked on the thumbnail of a pic, and then print, then options...I couldn't figure out what the poster was talking about, but just for the heck of it I clicked return to default settings (even though I had manually unchecked
greyscale before) and voila! I can't believe how much time I wasted on this. And, I had called microsoft yesterday, and after talking to someone who I could barely understand for about 5 minutes, she told me she would have to transfer me to paid assistance! Really?? She never asked me to check default settings.
Again, to everyone who responded thank you!!! Very nice of you to take the time to do it. A mind-numbingly simple fix.
