Hi everyone, this is my first post ... windows 7 has never acted up like this before ...

I've been trying to set up a homegroup between two windows 7 computers, mine is Ultimate and the other is Home Premium. They also share a workgroup with a windows machine using the default 'workgroup' name.

Setting up the homegroup on my machine fails because I can't switch the computer's location to "home" in the system properties window.

I click the button, restart and it comes back as a 'business computer' still. Any ideas? I'm at a loss as to why this happens or what on Earth I could do to fix it.

Added info: The homePremium computer can setup a homegroup, I can join, but can't access files or printers but the homePremium computer has no trouble getting my files (i.e. works as expected from his end)

Home Premium has less features. It does pertain to this, but doesn't explain the problem. Anyways, just put everything in a workgroup. Workgroup is much more reliable and anyone will tell you that.

cpanel>networking>set up a new connection>connect to the internet>

Chose homegroup if you need to but workgroup (also avail) is more stabile and easier to configure.
