I hope this is the right place to post this. I was just running windows updates for Office 2010 and when the computer rebooted I got an error about a COM class factory (see attached). So I tried to open Component Services and I got a Catalog Error when browsing into COM+ Applications.

How might I fix these issues?

(Toshiba Ultrabook - Windows 7 Pro)

PS
  • SFC /SCANNOW did not find any errors.
  • MSE says I have no viruses, as does MalwareBytes.
  • FixIt for Windows Updates did not find any issues.
  • All Windows updates have been applied.

Well, after much messing about, I did a system restore to a time prior to recent windows updates and everything is running smoothly again. Next step will be to perform the updates yet again and see what happens.
