I have installed WIN 7 Pro 64 bit on my HP Dv7 1000 laptop and everything seems to be working fine. No issues at all. I have reinstalled a couple drivers I needed to get things like the fingerprint detect and webcam working. So with those now working I am happy. Reinstalled all my applications and all seem fine. One update on the HP website sepcific to my machine is an Intel Chipset Installation Utility. There is info on the web about this such as:

The Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility (also known as the Intel® Chipset Device Software) is often referred to as the chipset driver or chipset drivers. This is a common misconception.

What is a driver?
A driver is a program that allows a computer to communicate (or talk to) a piece of hardware. The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, however, is not a driver, nor does it include drivers. It contains information files (INFs).

And it goes on and on. My question is should I go ahead and do this update, would I get better performance or stability or whatever, or since it seems like everything is working, let it ride and take the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality??
