clean Windows 7 installation crashed with BSOD

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite L635-12H. I had Windows 10 before and the video driver was somewhat fidgety. The resolution sometimes changed to a lower value after restarting, etc. Anyway, I installed Windows 7 afterwards and I installed the drivers and almost no programs at all (except firefox, teamviewer). And all of a sudden - I wasn't doing anything in particular - it crashed with bsod. I don't know what it might be related to. I suspect the video card, although there might be something wrong with the CPU cooling too. It does get rather hot and I did have it cleaned, because it would shut down on its own.

Hi lethargos,

It looks like the Intel chipset drivers referenced an invalid memory address causing the crash.
Please check Toshiba for driver updates or reinstall the drivers.
I also suggest to check for BIOS updates.

Hello again,

I installed the chipset driver from the Toshiba's site, although I'm not perfectly certain that it actually overwrote anything, and then I got the BSOD again. Moreover, after the finishes, I get the following error:
"A disk read error occurred".

It's also worth mentioning that I've already changed the hard drive (someone diagnosed the previous one and said that the hard disk is faulty), so I'm not really sure there's anything wrong with the hard drive.

I can also pinpoint when the BSOD occurs, or at least it's an event that triggers it: when I mount a cd image with winiso. I've no idea why. The image is fine, I've no doubt about it.

Lets see what the situation with the drives is.

Diagnostics Test

 HDD TEST

Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
Run following tests

1. Short Drive Self Test
2. Short generic
3. Long generic

If the short generic fails, no need for the long generic.

   Note

Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Run chkdsk
Disk Check - Windows 7 Help Forums
Upload the chkdsk log :ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/96938-check-disk-chkdsk-read-event-viewer-log.html

Run HDTune to

• scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
• check the health,
• benchmark.

It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following

• the error scan,
• the health,
• the benchmark incl. following
  • transfer rate,
  • access time,
  • burst rate,
  • cpu usage.

I'm afraid seatool doesn't work. It simply doesn't identify my hard drive. I suppose it doesn't have to be a seagate itself, does it?

There can be a few reasons why SeaTools does not find the hard drive like the cabling are a bit loose or restart of the program is required or something.

The seatool still didn't work. Not sure about the loose cable. Is it possible that a loose cable might cause seatool not to work, but hdtunes to work?

Anyway, I'm uploading what you're requesting. By the way, the last BSOD, as far as I could tell, gave a different error. Should I upload another dump?

Windows. Didn't even cross my mind to try it in DOS. Is there a seatool image with bootable DOS?

Hi! I was finally able to install seatools for DOS. There were no errors. It says that the test was passed. Here's a picture.

Well, yeah, it did occur, as I've already told you. For instance, each time I try to mount an .iso. I'm going to upload a zip tomorrow, when I have access to the computer.
