Have you taken a look at the PSU and try to find which wires or connectors go to where ?

If you could, it would make things easier to label them in advance to diminish confusion latter.
Just a suggestion.

You're headed for some great fun ahead. Go slow and take lots of pictures. Make sure you hear the clicking sound when you seat the connectors back in the new mobo. Take pictures before and after and use this time as a chance to run the cleanest wiring layout you can think of.

Don't worry if you do not get the wiring perfect the first time. You might do it over a few times before you are satisfied with it.
Wait until you think it looks good to you before putting on the wire ties, then leave them loose until the last minute so you can make final adjustments.

yup yupp... i found where ALL the cables go minus the case wires. im so ready lol just cant wait anymore! lol

will compressing the HDD give me better HDD performance?

I find it's a very light touch with the vise when attempting compression as just a turn or two too much and it's a locked up disk drive.

Unless your hopelessly out of disk space then I say zero compression and just do regular defrag on spinners only.

In theory it's very minor and with today's processor power likely even more minor? I just think with today low cost storage solutions why compress?

And you are welcome to that position. For me why introduce algorithms to save space unless you're in desperate need.

Back in the day when a hard drive was small and cost as much as a good second hand car compression was needed.
Those conditions no longer apply.
Another concern would be corruption or loss of data.
Any time you move data, compress data, change data, ect. their is always a chance of corruption or loss of data.
Why do something that is not needed and take the risk?

Processor may not feel the load, but it's still additional time that adds up to the total loading/response times. Not really recommended.
