Solved Computer does not startup

boot from windows 7 64 bit ultimate edition disk ->command prompt
then:
Code:
diskpart
list disk
[COLOR=red]how many disks? I assume 1[/COLOR]
sel disk 0
list part
[COLOR=red]how may partitions? [/COLOR]
[COLOR=black]select part 0[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]detail part[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]select part 1[/COLOR]
select part 2
detail part
[COLOR=red]etcetera[/COLOR]
Any partitions missing? All partitions missing? How many partitions did you have prior to having problems?

Number of disks after list part:

Disk ### --- Status ------ Size ------- Free ----- Dyn ----- Gpt
Disk 0 Online 931GB 0 B
Disk 1 No media 0 B 0 B

sel disk 0 -- list part results:

Partition ### ---- Type ---- Size ---- Offset
Partition 1 Primary 3906 MB 31 KB
Partition 2 Primary 11 GB 3906 MB
Partition 3 Primary 916 GB 15 GB

select part 1 -- detail part results:

Partition 1
Type : 82
Hidden : Yes
Active : No
Offset in bytes: 32256

There is no volume associated with this partition.

select part 2 -- detail part results:

Partition 2
Type : 83
Hidden : Yes
Active : No
Offset in bytes: 4096 189 440

There is no volume associated with this partition.

select part 3 -- detail part results:

Partition 3
Type : 83
Hidden : Yes
Active : No
Offset in bytes: 16327180800

There is no volume associated with this partition.

sel disk 1 -- list part

There are no partitions on this disk to show.

What was confirmed as the Active partition when you followed that step?

Confirm the Active partition is 100mb System Reserved (preferred if you have it) or C, using Partition Wizard bootable CD or Diskpart as shown in Mark Partition Active, then run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots no matter what it reports.

It would be very helpful as suggested if you'd post back a camera snap of PW drive map and listings.

I selected the partition 3 in disk 1 as the active partition because it seemed as if it had the most disk space - 916 GB ... After I rebooted my computer without the windows recovery CD it now says in the blank black screen at gotoxy(0,0)... Missing operating system

Do you have an EFI BIOS?

For the fourth time, can you post back a camera snap of Partition Wizard bootable CD drive map and listings? Click on the large partition to Explore for your files.

Complete Arc's request first, then when you get the chance:
Do you have access to a machine running the same Win7 version (home, Pro, Ultimate - x86 | x64)?

If so, create a System Repair Disc (start menu->Maintenance) on that machine for use on the laptop. The versions and bitdepths must match.

Follow the tutorial - it might take three runs.

How do I put that in a bootable usb? Where can I download the dll files that let me boot from FAT32 (I presume)?

Also would I install the partition wizard into my usb as well or would i have to use some sort of boot usb wizard to install it with the dll and cfg files?

And pardon me for my arrogance...

I would use Hiren’s BootCD 15.1 which includes Partiiton Wizard and other useful tools in suggested in the Troubleshooting tutorial you should be working through. Write to flash stick using Universal USB Installer with Hirens in the dropdown menu.

You should have the Win7 installer to use for repairs or reinstall by now since it's been linked repeatedly. Write it to stick using same tool above.

Thank you for this great response and another thing is, you mentioned a trouble shooting tutorial that I should be working through. Which one may that be? Sorry I may have missed it. Also would you recommend I download and iso image for hiren bootCD from a simple google search or do you have a link that you would recommend for it, and does the link you send me to the boot cd website - does the .zip file include the iso image?

partition type:82 and 83. Did you mess around with linux? If so... did you delete and create those partitions in linux?

Did you format those partitions as well?

That is exactly how I ended up with this problem! I was trying to install arch linux in the first place before my debugging. I run arch linux on my personal computer at home, even got it to work with my android tablet. Yet... with my laptop I have been having troubles installing it - then this problem occurred.

Okay. I installed the hirens Boot CD with universal USB installer on my Usb key and booted it on my laptop. It took me to a menu with a ton of options. Which one do I need to select for my problem? I am at the Hirens boot CD 15.2 menu.

I installed the hirens boot cd 15.2 menu but when I boot it from my usb at startup I cannot find the partition wizard home edition as described in the video. Maybe it is an earlier version or somethnig or it was just renamed or I just didnt search all possible files in there but I dont want to click on something in there without knowing what it is. Any advice I can get here?

You have a sub stick that can be rewritten totally? So all is gone afterwards. If so.... try this #2

Did you format the partitions in linux?? Or did you only delete the existing partitions and recreated the partitions (as type 82)?
