Computer does startup repair if not shut down properly

Hi guys-

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section or something, I'm new to the site. Anyway, anytime my Sony Vaio computer isn't shut down properly, or the screen times out due to inactivity, it will show a screen that says "windows is loading files" and then proceeds to do a start up repair in which it will try to restore my device to a previous setting (or something like that). When i first got this computer, as with my previous HP, I could close the lid..no harm no foul. After having this one for a month it started doing this out of nowhere. Any ideas for a fix?

This probably is the right place to post. Please read the instructions for posting a thread in the BSOD forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html.

I am guessing that you have a driver that is preventing your computer from resuming from or entering into sleep/hibernation mode and is causing your computer to crash. Your minidumps will include the information as to what driver that is.

Appreciate your reply! I would say I am good with computers, but i'm sure i'm not as tech savvy as you, obviously lol. where can i find info about the minidump on my computer?

The words in blue above are a link to the instructions for reporting your BSOD. They include an executable that will find your minidump files for you and place them in a folder within your documents folder.
