Hello all.

I have recently began having a problem with my Latitude E6500 laptop.

I have sleep disabled, in power setting and advanced settings. I know where to disable that completely, and up until recently, it was disabled. Since when it goes to sleep it refuses to wake up, I have to force shut down and restart. It mostly does this overnight or when I leave it for longer than an hour.

I downloaded a program called "Insomnia" that keeps the computer active so it doesn't go to sleep. This program works, but when I get to my computer, everything refuses to respond. Firefox, Steam, and when I click anywhere, explorer stops responding. Like the entire system locks up after a certain amount of time. So.. the lights (monitor) are on, but nobody's home for my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I would suggest you to check allow this device to wake the computer have a tick.

Here are the steps:

2. Go to Device manager.
3. Click on keyboard, it will display your keyboard, right click and go to properties.
4. Select Power management.
5. Check Allow this device to wake the computer.

Follow the same procedure for mouse, restart the computer and check if it works properly.
I also suggest you to update your display drivers, you can logon to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers and install.
