Solved Computer Restarts When I Shutdown

Very odd Beauvoir. I do not have much knowledge on overlooking, so I cannot offer much else. I will see if anyone else has ideas.

His problem stems from his overclocks. Where in that process is the question - RAM, CPU, PCI slots. Something is getting overclocked and not liking it. This is why I said in post #37 he needs to run at defaults for awhile, than gradually overclock if he must. Even than there's no guarantee of success since overclocking can be hit or miss.

As an overclocker myself, I usually take it slow and work from there until I find a happy medium between stability & performance, coupled with long term usage.

Hey Andrew, no problem. BTW he's using an AMD chip and motherboard so there's obviously some slight differences between that and an Intel setup. That said, outside of generals, I can't give specifics since I've never used an AMD MB/CPU. Perhaps someone with AMD overclocking experience can help out here.

Could you tell me which method you're using to overclock your pc please, ie by using the multiplier alone, adjusting base clock or both. would you also list the bios settings you have changed and include voltages too please.

I've adjusted everything manual, to get the best possible performance with the best temps/voltage.

I'm really sorry for the confusion mate but I thought you needed help with the AMD rig in your system spec's. Unfortunately I'm very new to Intel myself and can't help.

I can see in the Pic that he has things turned off that need to be on

PLL Voltage ,Speedstep ,Os real time CPU speed those look like they are keeping him from sustaining the OC

You need to update your specs and tell us what Intel CPU this is
You have people thinking you are still running AMD FX8120

We really can't be a lot of help unless we know what hardware you have.

I think he is going to have to enable C1e too. that may be a lot of his problem. but what CPU he has is going to help.

@Giaccovitch, If you don't already have it, please download and install CPUz and post Screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory and SPD tabs. On the SPD tabs we only need the dim slots that are populated with Ram.

Exactly! And I was one who went with the listed system specs and asked for help based on them. So yeah, if you want OC help, please provide us the correct system specs.

C1E shouldn't be causing the problems he's having as that's mainly for CPU power management. However anything is possible so.

I would, and have suggested a few times, that he should run at default or lower OC speeds. I'm thinking 4.5 is pushing the processor... whatever it is.

If it is a Haswell CPU he has all those other settings like uncore and ring core

From the BIOS picture he showed, none of those settings were there, or at least I missed them, so, I am assuming he has a Sandy or Ivy Bridge. But, we can't do anything until he responds.
