I have had an on-going problem with my computer where sometimes it boots and sometimes it doesn't. this times it's different. it wont boot at all.
If i try to boot from hard disk normally, it goes to "starting windows" and suddenly changes to "windows is loading files" and then restarts my computer.
launching start-up repair takes me to "windows is loading files" and the returns me to the page that ask me if i want to run start up repair.
loading the installation disk directs me up to "starting windows" and then i get the error code "00xc0000225" and tells me to try the installation disk that i JUST tried loading.
to summarize, no matter what i do, it wont boot up. i have made NO hardware OR software changes recently so i have no idea what is wrong. however i have not gotten the BSOD yet. Help would be GREATLY appreciated!
P.S. all i wanted to do was play portal...

No, safe mode dose not work; NOTHING works. god only knows why it doesn't like the windows installation disk. it's not virus related because i removed all the hard drives and it still wont load the installation disk. The cd/dvd rom drives are not the problem because other programs that you can boot off of still work. the ram is not the problem because memtest86+ reports no problems. The power supply is in no way the problem. i have no idea what the problem is.
still thanks for trying to help!
any other ideas?

Just in case you haven't done so remove all the ram over 2gigs, don't know why but for some reason systems with more than 2 gigs in them sometimes give installation disc issues. Resetting the bios couldn't hurt either.
