Solved Computer won't boot after deleting linux partition

Windows will totally blue screen i set my transfer mode to ahci

Why don't you reformat the disk with Linux using Gparted (which is their disk management). If you need guidance, let me know.

So i shut down my computer, booted it back up without the secondary hdd attached, went into the bios, changed the transfer mode to ahci, rebooted this time with the secondary plugged in, pressed f10 and booted into my gparted live usb. I tried to start it in normal and failsafe modes, both ironically failed, with the error message sayong kernal panic not syncing, out of memory and no killable process. I have 8gbs of memory so what the heck is going on here?

Its also saying that my primary hard drive contains gpt signatures, what is that about?

Is your primary drive formatted in GPT - check in disk management.

For formatting the secondary drive with Gparted I would boot from a live Linux CD or a live Linux stick.

Ill try that next, right now im in a windows repair cd, which wouldn't start with the secondary hdd plugged in, so i plugged it in after startup and ran diskpart /rescan, its taking forever and a day to find this disk. And all i did was delete a linux partition, this is ridiculous.

The diskpart utility didnt work, so i followed the guide to get ahci to work in windows, which went well. So i enabled ahci in the bios and booted into windows which was fine, windows actually booted faster than usual. But when i tried to reboot with the secondary plugged in, no luck. Windows just stayed frozen at the windows logo. I knew that ahci supported hot swappable drives, so rebooted again with my secondary unplugged and plugged it in after windows bootup. Now windows is taking forever to find the driver for the disk. Im just to give it a while and hope this works.

Yeah, as i thought windows failed to grab the driver for the drive and trying to scan for the drive in disk management doesn't work either, it goes in an endless loop of scanning for the disk. Also i saw no indication that my primary partition is using gpt at all. Going to try booting into linux and using gparted from there. Also, when i boot i have the option of booting into my secondary hdd which takes me to grub rescue mode. Not sure what i can do from there though.

Another option would be to use the bootable CD of Partition Wizard and wipe that secondary disk.

Your hard drive is showing all the signs of a dead or dying drive.

I think Steve is right. There is more damage than just a formatting problem. That is also indicated by the BIOS hanging on it. You probably have to cut your losses.

I was able delete all of the partitions with partition wizard, and now i'm doing a surface test to see if theres anything wrong with the hard drive

I agree, that's quite strange. I know PW can do some things few other programs can, but I've not seen this before. I guess we will never know, but I would like to know the cause.

I'am happy to report that the entire disk has been cleaned, and i can now not only boot windows with the secondary hard drive plugged, but i can actually see it in disk management. Also the surface test turned up all green, no errors whatsoever. Thank you so much guys, not only did you guys get my hard drive working but you also got my computer to boot faster than it did before because of the new ahci transfer mode for sata hard drives, which is a nice bonus.
