Hey guys, I have a slightly older desktop that has an Pentium D "Presler" 925 at 3Ghz and wanted to upgrade it to a Core 2 Extreme "Conroe XE".
The computer's chipset is a Intel Q965 Express Chipset It runs with a max Rated FSB of 1066Mhz. The current Pentium D has TDP 95 Watts while the Conroe XE has a TDP of 75-80 Watts.
My only question is: Should I anticipate any problems in the upgrade? My only fearis the bios not supporting the CPU as this computer is an HP Compaq dc7700.
Any thoughts?
Edit:
What about the possibility of using a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
