Since windows 7 and the laptop provides the back up and restore tools, why do we still need additional B&R software?

Windows 7 imaging (which I use):
1) Presents problems for some users/ their system configuration
2) Is restricted in its capabilities.

Free Macrium Reflect has proven to overcome aspects of 1) & 2) and is highly regarded.
Imaging is so important it is safe to have 2 imaging programs even if you mainly use just one of them.

I don't know anything about it. Apart from Windows own, these products often get a favorable mention here
- Macrium
- EaseUS Todo Backup
- Paragon
- Acronis

All have free and paid versions (free Acronis for WD & Seagate HDDs).
