Create system repair disk pop up

Hi Guys

Is there a way of turning the pop up "would you like to create a system repair disk" you get after you have created a system image back on again. Ive accidentally checked the box to not show the message again and would like it back as I liked the ping it made when the image was complete.Without it there no notification noise just a close tab.
I don't have the option of a restore as I did it a while ago but im now missing the ping.

I've spent some time trying to research this question and I found this relatively old Vista response from a Microsoft Answers Support Engineer:

I've searched for close to an hour trying to find a way to get that message box to come back, apparently, once you check the option "Don't show this message again", it will not come back. I was looking for a Registry fix but cannot locate one. So at the moment, yes, this would be a Final answer and reinstalling would appear to be the only option. I will continue to research when I can and Post a reply if/when I find a solution, but as it stands, there is not a "fix" for this.

Disappeared Message Boxes - Microsoft Answers

Under many circumstances running a System File Checker scan will replace incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions of system files with the correct versions if possible. Don't know if it will help in this situation as the file apparently worked as intended.

I looked for a while on this one and came up blank.
I was interested in the key Danny requirement - a sound when the image completes.
More generally I'd like to associate a sound with the termination of any application or process other than the limited inbuilt sound events.

It does appear that once you have checked the box its gone for good.A re install is out of the question for such a small issue that Is only a personal preference rather than an issue.I will however try the file checker see if that puts it back.
I did try last night stopping various services related to backup and restore rebooting and enabling again to no avail.Im sure the is a fix in the registry for this but not sure where it would be and there is very little information on it.
Will report back if I have any success

I have to agree that this does seem to be a relatively small issue ... but it's mind boggling (at least to me) how much work goes into creating a message box with the "don't ask again" option. I thought if I understood how it was created and how it worked I'd be able to figure out how to get it back. If only it was that easy.

Seems like each individual program, application, etc has its own rules based on whether it's in VB, C+, C++, etc. Most of the "stuff" I discovered is way beyond my comprehension level. As an example:

Since these message boxes are application specific, one would have to know where in the registry to look to find the on/off switch. I don't believe the registry is set up to have all message boxes in one location (that would be WAY too easy!)

The other issue is the time constraints. Every time you make a change or addition and want to test it its a 20+ minute wait until the system image is created just to see if the pop up re appears

I tried the file checker but that hasn't put it back.

I agree with you there will be a switch in the registry somewhere, a simple number change will do the trick if anyone ever finds the correct key that is.

Ez Fix

First off,the best type of Dick to make is a Windows Live BOOT CD.It is a bit harder then just backing up a system making a Sys Image CD.Being that you need a ISO fire for the Live Boot CD.If that is something you want to make,e-mail me and I will upload the file a program you need.Just make sure when you are ready to Burn,Use a DVD-R.You have to use that type of CD but it will last forever & you can't delete it.


Now back to your question:If you want to make a Image/Boot CD,make sure your PC is running flawless.
Their are a few ways you can do this is,CMD/DOS or just click start and type reboot cd or Image Cd and your done.
