so i edited it and overwrote it and it all went smoothly, then loggedoff and back on and its still the same old orb... i replaced the 6801since i keep my bar on the bottom. i checked and im using the right explorer.exe... used restorator

You only need to replace 6805 unless you are using small icons on your taskbar, if you select small icons on your taskbar now it should change to the image you used.

I been having a problem with allot of these different images and including my own, for some reason the picture becomes almost white, anyone else had this happen or know a solution for this?

I had the same problem with this one, I adjusted the exposure by -2 in PS and used the dark one.

this only works on dark backgrounds on light backgrounds its totally white

Out of curiosity, are you going to add a folder for .zip files? They're still yellow on my computer, but it doesn't really matter since I usually unzip them right away.

Yes I am including a Zip folder with the new set as seen on the screen shot (the last icon).

EDIT: If MS HAVE changed the build string for 7600 like some of the rumours are saying,
DO NOT install ANY for 7600 until someone can test the packs on a virtual machine.

I have a VM waiting but it's just incase someone gets the release before we have checked the string.

As long as all of the build number is the same everything will be fine, the dll's are from the build string you mention so yes you are safe.
