Delete a folder???

As we all know, Windows 7 is no longer supported, thus there are no updates. However, today I found c:\$$PendingFiles, but was unable to delete it. I tried rebooting, but that didn't help. Neither did running CMD as administrator and trying a DEL command. Any suggestions as to how this folder can be removed?

(why am I not allowed to make a vertical list) properties | security | advanced | owner | edit | change owner to (yourself) ---don't forget to click on "subcontainers and objects" | OK | OK | OK |||| properties (again!) | security | edit | allow (to yourself everything) | OK | OK ||||| close/open Fileman, now should be able to delete the noisome directory
