Solved Delete Folder whose owner is SYSTEM

Hi,

how can I delete a folder (including subfolders) whose owner is only the SYSTEM user?

I've tried to give the Administrator user all necessary permissions, but unfortunately this doesn't work.

it looks like you have to 'own' the folder first.

Thank you for your quick answer.

I've tried the procedure you've mentioned before I postet my question. Unfortunately it didn't work, but meanwhile I've found another procedure to take ownership. It can be found here: Take Ownership of file - Vista Forums.

After I've done these steps, I've given my standard user permission to delete the folder and then I could delete it.

Yes, and the reason is that taking ownership only changes the "owner" of the file/folder. It does not change the PERMISSION LEVEL of the file. After you have taken ownership of the item, you may still need to allow your user account full control of the item before you will have full permission to access it, modify, or delete it.
