Deleting Photos from Hard Drive to Free Up Space.

I need more space on my hard disk drive. I bought an external drive to store photographs to free up space. I transferred many photos from my laptop to the external drive. Now I'm having trouble deleting the photos from the laptop. Please advise.

What happens when you try to delete the photos? "Having trouble deleting" doesn't tell us much.

Thank you for responding. Since I wrote the inquiry, I have discovered I can delete the photos file by file, which is dozens and dozens of files! So to revise my question, is there a way of deleting all the pictures in "My Pictures" that is in "Libraries" that will be faster than going file by file?

While in the folder of the photos to what to delete, press CTRL+A (select all) and then press delete.

If you need a secure delete try Eraser (freeware) and integrates in your right click, you can also chose how many overwrite passes it makes.
