Desktop Background revers to default after log out

New Asus Laptop, Win 7 Pro, pentium i7 vs quad core, 8 Gig of RAM, 2 x 500GB HDD's

I created a theme and saved it - after I log out and back in, the desktop background reverts to the default Win7 background - when I go to Personalize, my theme is still there but I have to select it again in order to get it to appear again - when I log out and back in, it's gone again
