Solved display port or DVI?

When it comes to setting up multiple monitors on an SLI config you need to follow the port layout that is displayed in the control panel. You also need to read the manual, it should tell which ports to use when using SLI and multiple monitors.

The first port displayed is the primary, where the bootup process will display.

I've tried setting it up by the manual, the nvidia control panel, the surround config tool and by forums I've visited. Who knows, maybe I did have a bad card in some way. It worked after the third card so now I have it in my head that in order to have 2D surround working with three displays is to have three cards.

Now I'm waiting to see if I'll run into any issues with these cards.

I also answered my question after looking at the surround configurator. I'm going to use DVI to connect the three main displays. If I add my three old displays (to have 6 total) I'll connect them with a display port to DVI cable.

The game also has to be surround capable.

Battlefield 4 is surround capable, not positive about B3, gonna check the packaging.

I don`t see anything about be able to run Battlefield 3 in surround on the packaging.

It may be an in game option

This issue wan't related to games, the desktop wouldn't even show up. It was weird to say the least.

Surround is a bit complicated, takes patience.

There are various types of DVI and some support sound, some do not. Generally I have found that n-Vidia video cards support sound on DVI whereas AMD cards do not.

As for the actual connection to use in this case, any will do but Display Port is the way forward

I managed to get Battlefied 3 spread across 3 1080p sceens, looks sweet

I'm looking to order black DVI cables. I can't seem to find any that are 12 feet long. Guess I'll have to go 15 feet, I hope they won't be too long. I'm going to use ethernet wire to double check my cable lengths before ordering.

15 feet is about on the practical maximum for DVI-d but should be fine, if you have any worries Display Port has a max of nearer 15 Metres

Checked it and 15 feet is going to be way too long. I was thinking buy 10 feet and a small extension.

By rights, the computer and the monitors should be in the same zip code
