Dual boot winxp media 32 bit and Casper image Windows 7 64 bit

I've got Winxp media centre NTFS installed and I've used Casper (http://www.fssdev.com/products/casper/trial/ )to copy Windows 7 premium from another hard drive to the Winxp hard drive NTFS partition.Do I activate the Windows 7 on the Winxp hard drive ? Will it cause problems ? The hard drive Windows 7 is installed on is a used hard drive .I don't want to dual boot with 2 hard drives.I've also downloaded EasyBCD .Thanks Big D

If you stored a backup image then you'll need to use the installed Imaging program or it's boot disk to re-image Win7 to the target HD which should have unallocated space to fit it.

I am not familar with Casper but here' show it works with Win7 and most other apps: System Image Recovery

I've used Casper on my early Winxp when I replaced 2 burned out hard drives over the years and started up fine.But Windows 7 is another beast altogether. Do I activate the Windows 7 partition ?

Then you may want to try another imaging app like Macrium or the premium Acronis imaging app which comes free with any WD or Seagate HD.

But if you want to first try with what you have then mark Active if offered, after reimaging unplug all other HD's, set Win7 HD as first HD to boot in BIOS setup.

If Win7 will not start, mark Win7 partition Active and boot into DVD System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts on its own. Partition - Mark as Active (Method Two)

If Win7 starts then you can plug back in XP HD and boot it using the one-time BIOS Boot menu key given on first boot screen. If this is not satisfactory, install EasyBCD to Win7 to add XP on Add OS tab.
