"dusvlcg" File Extensions

The extension "dusvlg" has been added to most of my files (ex. word, PDF, pst, etc) by itself and I'm no longer able to open those files. Tried to re-assign thier extension from the control panel, default programs to thier orignal default programs, but it did not work.

Can you post a screenshot of one of your folders with the extension showing? Google is turning up absolutely nothing with the term dusvlcg whatsoever.

Tha OP said the extension was "dusvlg" not "dusvicg". That looks to be either Afrikaans or Dutch but that is not much help anyway. I would recommend a thorough scan for nasties on this machine.
OQO What anti virus are you running? Do a full scan on that then try Malwarebytes.

you're right. it is dusvlcg) , but it was typo in the body of the post.

Gents, I badly need your help, the probelm was extended to my connected external hard drive and the extension of my outlook data file where all emails were located was changed. After that, I couldn't open outlook as it was saying that my data file was in different format that can be read with outlook.

I doubt that there is much that we can do to help you get those files back.

You might want to leave the computer turned off and seek professional help.

There is a chance that the infection has not completed its task of encrypting your files. The longer that you leave the computer turned on, the more files might get encrypted. Once the encryption completes, you should get a popup asking you to pay quite a bit of money to get your files back. There is no reason to believe that paying the money will get your files back.

You might be able to recover your files from your backup source, but it would need to be a backup that was not exposed to the infection.
