DVD Drive problem

I'm having problems with my DVD. It doesn't autoplay with the Media Center, and then when I go on my computer and click on the DVD icon, it states that it can't find the disc and I need to insert one. However, when I come off of hibernate, the DVD autoplays and it works just fine. But it only works, when the DVD is inserted and I'm coming off hibernate. One more problem is that if a DVD is inserted, my operating system doesn't boot; nor does GRUB.

I appreciate any help.

There isn't a WinFlash for Windows 7, its only for Windows Vista and XP, should I do it anyways?

HP doesn't provide support for Windows 7? No, flashing the BIOS is such a potentially dangerous task that personally, I would not recommend trying a program designed for anything but the correct OS. If I had to guess, I would guess one of two things would happen:
a) the program gives an error message
b) it works.

Alright. I'll leave that for now I guess, anything else you suggest?
