Easy Transfer XP to 7 - Viewing save reports before installing Win 7

I am attempting to move from Windows XP to Windows 7 on my PC. I have installed Windows Easy Transfer and I have completed the XP save to my external hard drive. According to page 3 of the Microsoft document Upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7:

"You'll need to re-install your programs by hand after installing Windows 7. When you run Windows Easy Transfer you will get a report that lists the programs that you are currently using with Windows XP."

I ran Easy Transfer but I did not get a report and cannot find one. I verified that the saved document was on my external drive as it should be but I cannot view it.

I need to see the report so that I can make sure I have a list of all the programs that I will need to be re-installing after the Windows 7 installation is complete and the Easy Transfer to Windows 7 is done.

Looks like the option to view the list of programs you will need to reinstall is when you're inside Windows 7

You could install this program on your XP PC before you install Windows 7 . It will list all the software installed on your PC as well as show your their Product Keys

Thank you for responding. Yes, everything I saw looked like the only reports I could get would be after the Windows 7 installation, too. I was really hoping based on the document that I have that there was some way to pull a listing of at least the programs involved.

I'll take a look at the tutorial you mentioned. If, like you said, I can get a list of the programs, as well as the keys, that's EXACTLY what I would need. Then I can also do a comparison after the Windows 7 installation is complete.
