Enable read only but not write - dvdrom

Hi All,


I just want to ask if it is possible that my DVDROM will only read files from the DVD but cannot burn them?

It depends on the DVD player you are using and the DVD you are trying to burn. Many DVD's are Write Protected if they came with things like movies on them.

I mean for example my friend always burn files to DVD, I want my DVD writer to prohibit burning but at the same time they can view files inside the DVD. In short for viewing only disable the burn capabilities of DVD Writer.

There's no way to disable specific features in the DVD device itself. If you want to prevent other folks from writing to DVDs, you would need to hide the program that is used to do that.
