Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error

I am unable to extract files from a zip on Windows 7 created on my Samsung Galaxy s6 using File Manager Pro, every time I try, I get the following error

"A problem is preventing windows from completing the extraction

Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error"


I googled the message but only really old outdated Windows Vista results showed up. There is nothing recent or regarding Windows 7



Does anybody know what the problem could be?

I don't know if this will answer your question, however I am aware that you can narrow the search results you give a search engine, by including your operating system version in your search query.

For example change your search query and provide the following in search bar:

0x80004005: Unspecified error Windows 7​

will reduce number of vista related web links appearing at top of search results lists, and hopefully you find some windows 7 matches.

This advice also useful if another manufacturer uses same code as you are searching.
